Ok, here it is. Notice my hair flying back in the wind and the scared smile on my face. I had to lean WAY back to even clear that blue bar and by the time I was sitting back up we were already half way down the slide. You can see a little bump right out of the start gate and let me just tell you, it's a really good thing my hips fit snuggly into the slide.

At least I was having fun!

I came up with the idea to go to Legoland tonight totally spur of the moment. Erek wasn't as happy about it as I thought he would be. Of course, he didn't get his usual afternoon nap because of my spur of the moment plans, but hey! At least I was having fun! Brian had a good time too and it was our first of MANY trips to come. We only spent an hour there and felt like we needed to go back for more real soon. I have lived in Southern California for a total of... 18 years? Somewhere around there. I have NEVER been to Legoland before! IT hasn't been here for 18 years, but still... what's my deal? I have heard a lot of rumors that it isn't really for bigger kids, but it is pretty fun for adults with little kids. We were there for the last hour that they were open and the place was deserted. It was pretty chilly outside though, and I am wondering if that is why there wasn't anyone else there. Erek and I had the little toddler train all to ourselves. Brian would have come along with us, but I made him stay off so that he could take pictures. Erek wasn't too sure about the whole thing. I kept smiling at him and telling him that he was having a good time and he just stared at me with this blank stare. Poor kid. He was so sleepy. He finally woke up and started moving around just as it was time to leave. He seemed to enjoy the slide... although, it was NOT made for adults and I was probably NOT supposed to even be on it, but I HAD to take him down it! It looked so fun! The other picture Brian took of us on the slide is hilarious, but I don't think I am going to post it. I look pretty silly. We couldn't stop laughing about it the entire walk out of the park. If you all want to see it, I can post it... I guess. :)

Time for a change.

Tomorrow is the day! No more blonde hair for a while. I decided to go brown again. I have done it once before and I enjoyed the change. I think it's time again. I'm pretty tired of this ugly dirty blonde color and I want to take a break from the highlighting. So, tomorrow at 3:30 cross your fingers and wish me luck!

Palomar Mountain

Every once in a while, Brian and I like to take a drive up to Palomar Mountain and experience cold weather. :) The last time we were up there was 2 years ago at this same time, the Saturday after Thanksgiving. This time, we took Erek and let him experience some cold weather too. He didn't seem to mind (it wasn't really even that cold outside... probably low fifties or something). We like to pack some left over turkey sandwiches from the Thanksgiving feast and have a little picnic while we are there. I tried to snap a few shots so that I could document the occasion. We might actually turn it into a tradition. It was a LOT more relaxing than fighting the crowds at the stores and it was nice to be up in the mountains away from all of the craziness.

We are so thankful!

There are SO many things to be thankful for this year. We have each other, a beautiful boy and a wonderful house to live in. We are still trying to figure out how we are going to be making our rent for the next few months, but we know that it is only a matter of time until Brian finds another job. We are thankful for our families and we were so glad to be able to spend Thanksgiving here with them. We missed our family that lives too far away to come, but we thought about them often and felt them here in spirit. So often, the little things we are blessed with each and every day get taken for granted and I am so thankful for the fact that we are healthy and happy!

Erek and Dusty are going to be best buds, they just don't know it yet.

There is nothing like getting together with the family and playing some games.

Jason and Karin came down to San Diego from Las Vegas this weekend to go to their nephew's birthday party. Lucky me! I was so excited to see them! They were only going to be here for a short period of time so we met at Pat & Oscar's for dinner on Friday night. I haven't seen Norah since she was just learning how to say little words like "dog". My, my has she grown up! She has the cutest vocabulary! Karin's blog says it all and I was glad to have the Norah experience. :) Little Evan is just as cute as can be. He has beautiful sky blue eyes, the cutest little grin and so much confidence! I miss this little family so much and I was so glad to be able to spend the evening with them.
